Understanding Color Theory frees artists at any level, beginner to advanced, to focus on other aspects of the creation process. Indiana artist Avon Waters will be leading this all-day, hands-on Saturday workshop, starting with a demo from nature then progressing into hands-on exercises that decipher color theory.
In this workshop, you will learn how to mix shades, tints, and tones, color relativity, and more….using the medium of your choice. Avon will be working in pastel demonstrating each aspect of color theory.
If you have mastered composition, drawing, painting and other skills, your paintings can still fail because of bad color choices.
As you work, you will explore how to connect your art to conservation while you depict nature’s connectivity to life.
This workshop is perfect for those who consider themselves beginning artists to seasoned painters. The color techniques and processes will resonate with painters who work in watercolor, gouache, acrylic, pastel, and oil.
Avon Waters is a Pastel Society of America juried member, exhibits in museums across the country, and regularly is included in national and International pastel exhibitions.
