Opening Reception for “Distant Thunder”

Join us in an opening reception to celebrate climate-themed art by Artists for Climate Awareness members, in our gallery show entitled, “Distant Thunder.” This juried exhibition, part of our Earth Month celebrations, is intended to raise awareness about urgent climate and environmental issues through artistic expression and community engagement. The show and reception are at the Arts Alliance Center in the Bloomington, IN College Mall on Sunday, April 6 at 3 pm.

The reception includes an hour to view and appreciate the art from 3-4 pm while enjoying refreshments provided By Bloomingfoods Co-op, and is followed at 4 pm by awards and a musical performance, “Ceremony for Our Land.” The performance features environmentally themed and indigenous-inspired music  composed and performed by Grace McKenzie and Daixuan Ai, IU Jacobs School of Music. There will be a second performance at 5 pm.

The “Distant Thunder” exhibition will take place April 3 – April 28.
