Join us for a transformative art workshop…

Watercolor painting of dried leaf…that combines creativity and environmental consciousness. Our Artists for Climate Awareness organization invites you to immerse yourself in the beauty of nature through the captivating practice of nature journaling.

Half-day Workshop, April 27, 2024

First Half: Crafting Your Nature Journal

In the opening segment, participants can unleash their artistic flair by crafting personalized accordion-style nature journals.  Your journal is made from a single sheet of drawing paper with no sewing or gluing involved.  This hands-on activity will provide a tangible and personalized surface for you to document your observations and reflections on the natural world.

Second Half: Drawing Nature in the Outdoors

Step outside with us to a serene, shaded area beside the building, where a pond and a tapestry of wild flora await. Engage in the meditative process of drawing what you see, feel, and experience in this small but enchanting oasis. Our experienced facilitator, Chicago artist Pauline Kochanski,  will guide you through techniques to capture the essence of nature on paper through words and images.
