Out of Africa: Climate Musicians
Join us in welcoming Morris Mburu and a talented team of African musicians from various countries as they collaborate with Artists for Climate Awareness. Morris, a 24-year-old musician and college student in Rwanda, has become a significant figure in climate activism among African youth. His impactful contributions include climate awareness, environmental education, and participation in UN climate conferences with youth groups.
Best known for his climate music videos, Morris (artistically known as Halisi Monray) and his team travel across Africa, performing and raising awareness through their music. Their latest release, “Green War,” focuses on the devastating heatwaves in Africa and has become an anthem for climate activists. This powerful song won the 2024 Best Climate Song award at the 1.5 ALIVE: Climate Song Contest.
